Hello!

About BBQ Art
A collective in Baltimore >>>>
BBQ Art is a baltimore-based Black + Queer Artist Collective.
BBQ (Baltimore Black Queer) Art is a generative and liberatory space that centers Black queer and trans artists in Baltimore. We see this space both as a mirror and a gathering. As a mirror, BBQ Art reflects and documents our collective existence, magnifies our talent, and encourages us to be fully seen in community with other artists, in solidarity with allied movements, and in acknowledgement of our power. As a gathering, BBQ Art creates a container for our ideas and our art, nurturing our practice through multidimensional settings – virtual space, community space, street corners, rented galleries. Our ultimate goal is to own a physical space.
We see this work as deeply necessary and a service to our community at large, weaving a tapestry to build a stronger and better Baltimore.
We are currently fiscally sponsored by The Center for Black Equity Baltimore.

About Blair
Blair (they/she) is a Black queer femme facilitator, transition doula, and community auntie. She has worked at the intersections of health equity and racial justice for the past 15 years – within philanthropy, government, nonprofits, and the arts. She currently does adaptive consulting and integrative healing work for individuals and organizations through Alight Alchemy, provides fiscal sponsorship support to social justice movement leaders across the country with The Praxis Project, and is a founding member of the Rooted Collective. They are most curious about spaces for rest and reflection that center Black queer and trans activists and organizers, the healing power within our (re)connection to land and ancestry, and documenting how we embody liberation. A work in progress, they are engaged in their own healing through dance, creative writing, collaborative storytelling, and collective work.
